In March of 2008 the adhocWORKshop moved into the old Joe's Whirligig garage located on U.S. 2 in downtown Rapid River, Michigan. For many years, local old timer Joe Micheau constructed and sold whirligigs at this location. His quality folkart is well known and appreciated, and widely dispersed throughout the country.
Rapid River artist and designer Ritch Branstrom has taken over were Joe left off and is carrying on the spirit of creativity with his own unique style of found object sculpture. The adhocWORKshop is the direct source for for beer can fish, birds, dogs, larger than life mosquitos and flys, and all kinds of crazy indoor, outdoor and garden sculpture. Stop in and check it out. Hours are by appointment, chance, or fate.
